On Monday August 28th, the oldest 4 Frank children ( well technically 3 , because the 4 year old was starting preschool) started school. This year we have a high schooler, middle schooler, elementary schooler, preschooler and a one year old. Sophia (14) is going in to the 9th grade, so far she studying to get a GPA of 4.0 or higher and according to her "failing miserably". Zelie (11) is entering 6th Grade, she is excelling highly in math and loves to bake. Clare (8) is going into 3rd grade, she loves being out in nature and is very athletic. Samson (4) is going into preschool and will not stop singing "Take Me Home,Country Roads" by John Denver. Agnes (1) turned one this summer. She is the happiest baby ever and will not stop smiling. Our tradition for the first day of school is a big piece of paper spun into a cone and filled with goodies. This first day of school tradition is what we like to call "cones". Every cone has the students name and grade that they are going into. Mom likes to customize each cone according to each child, but there are somethings that we all get that are the same. This year we all got pencil bags (everyone got different colors), we got little statues of the saints. Sophia got a icon of St. Hildegarde, Zelie got St. Padre Pio, Clare got St. Francis and Sam got St. Joseph. We also always get little things like pencils, tape, etc. Towards the end of summer the only thing you will hear us talk about is our "cones". Yes, it may sound ridiculous, but it's what we all (including Sophia, but she won't admit it) look forward to.
